Jason is our owner and founder as well as a PADI IDC Staff Instructor. As a native San Diegan working in corporate finance for many years, Jason decided to turn his love and passion for the ocean and scuba diving into a fulfilling career by launching UnderWatters Co. Jason primarily teaches Rescue Diver, Divemaster, and Assistant Instructor courses for UnderWatters Co. He also serves as a staff member for Instructor Development Courses in San Diego, helping to train and prepare new instructor candidates. When not teaching, he spends most of his time managing UnderWatters Co. for his students and staff to ensure the best possible experience for everyone.

Patricia serves as an MSDT instructor and specialty instructor for UnderWatters. She started her scuba diving journey back in 2005, and her only regret was not starting when she was a child. The sport of scuba diving is not a hobby to her, but a true passion. As a lover of the ocean and all that it holds, she loves being able to train students so they can enjoy it themselves for a lifetime. As the former X-Ray tech for the San Francisco 49ers, she has a keen eye for photography and focusing on all the details for her students every step of the way! Come train with her and have the best time with the most fun!

Taylor was a former UnderWatters student and now proudly one of our own local instructors! She teaches a wide range of scuba diving certifications in San Diego, and holds a true love of night diving. When not working for UnderWatters, Taylor works as a local lifeguard at the YMCA. Her passion is to make the world a better place through conservation efforts, beach cleanups, and sustainability practices. As an adrenaline seeker, when she’s not diving, she loves to rock climb, cliff jump, kayak, and doing anything outdoors. Her end goal is to become a Scuba Instructor and teach around the world while assisting in ocean conservation projects.

Chris is a PADI certified Master Scuba Diver Trainer and his greatest joy is sharing his thrill for the ocean with others. After years of teaching around the world in places such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Hawaii, he has returned to San Diego full-time to teach locally. Chris provides his students with fun-filled educational courses by incorporating his firefighter and military background to ensure that students have the tools they need to succeed through out their diving careers.

Madison serves as one of our local Open Water Scuba Instructors in San Diego. She loves introducing students to the “underwatters” world like they have never seen before. Holding a degree in Marine Biology, Madison is a gem of knowledge on local ecosystems, kelp forests, and marine life, giving students unparalleled insights throughout their dive courses. She loves to teach cold water specialties such as Dry Suit diver and serves as one of our PADI Sidemount instructors.

Mia oversees all social media and marketing efforts for UnderWatters Co., and well as assisting in various client service and office management operations. Mia is a PADI certified Divemaster who is local to San Diego but considers Hawaii, Mexico, Panama, and French Polynesia her other home bases. She is working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a concentration in Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation from University of Hawaii, Hilo and currently participates in coral restoration. As a surfer, diver, sailor, and marine biology nerd, her passions come together in the ocean and she loves sharing this enthusiasm with others.
